Shawanadassee is a two-story modern lodge building with community space that makes this stand-alone building the most sought after at Camp Michawana.

The upper level has four suite-style rooms that each sleep 5-7 people. In the center upstairs there is a meeting space that seats 50 people with a small kitchenette (mini fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker), an electric fireplace, and projector capabilities. There is an additional restroom in the main meeting area.

The lower level of Shawandassee has two bunk rooms (each sleep 14) with bathrooms. There is a small rec room in between with a pool table, ping pong, a sink and refrigerator.

Shawandassee is often rented out as a whole unit for groups or can be split by rooms during events.

Big Bear is nestled near the Mishe Lodge. It is a bunkhouse with 12that can sleep up to 24 people and is great for a small group.

The bathhouse in Mishe has 2 showers, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets on each side.

Keneu lodge is a circle of eight cabins plus a staff cabin, Whippoorwill, with a bathouse on main camp nestled on the hill overlooking the Dining Hall and Long Lake.  Each cabin has 4 sets of bunks plus a single counselor bed to house a total of 9 people.  The wooden interior gives a camp atmosphere but the A/C, heat, electric, and cubbies give a clean, bright feeling.

A bathhouse with 2 showers, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets on each side makes Keneu a perfect lodge to host 72 campers.  The bathhouse also services the four Chippewa cabins which are located down the hill.

Keneu means “Big Bird” and each of the 8 cabins are named after birds: Robin, Swallow, Heron, Raven, Bluebird, Crow, Pheasant, and Cardinal

Mishe lodge is a circle of 10 cabins with a bathouse on main camp nestled near our main entrance.  Each cabin has 3 sets of bunks plus a single counselor bed to house a total of 7 people.  The wooden interior gives a camp atmosphere but the A/C, heat, and electric give a clean, bright feeling.

A bathhouse with 2 showers, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets on each side makes Keneu a perfect lodge to host 70 campers.  The bathhouse also services the Big Bear bunkhouse cabins which islocated down the hill.

“Mishe” short for Mishemokwa means “Big Bear” and each of the 10cabins are named after woodland creatures: Bison, Raccoon, Rabbit, Beaver, Elk, Weasel, Squirrel, Red Fox, Wolverine, Moose

The Gitchee Lodge consists of 10 rustic cabins. These cabins are from our original camp location and were moved when our current property was purchased.

Each cabin can sleep up to 6 people

“Gitchee” short for “Gitchee Gumee” means Big Water.
