work at Michawana
We’re looking for the best counselors, events team, lifeguards, and worship leaders around. Summer Staff is a ministry, not a job. Although there are a lot of benefits (like competitive pay, weekends off, free food and housing, and tons of fun and adventure) you’ve got to want to be here to serve God and people. Being on Summer Staff is both rewarding and demanding physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
If you love Jesus and you love kids, consider applying. After your application is complete and your references turn their forms back in to us, we will contact you for an interview. Applicants that seem to fit what we are looking for in the interview are invited to a group interview to see camp in action before deciding if this is the right fit for them. We are picky, and we want you to be picky…kids lives are a big deal and we’re not messing around.
work at Michawana
We are so blessed to have faithful volunteers who serve and support the mission at Camp Michawana. There are many opportunities to serve year-round.
General Volunteer: Whether you care to pick weeds, drive the boat, mow the grass or help with handcraft, we would love to find a way to get you involved in the ministry at Camp.
Thursday Volunteer Days: throughout the year, we have a mowing crew, landscaping crew, cleaning crew, carpentry crew and more that come regularly on Thursdays. We serve lunch for our volunteers and appreciate them so much. Let us know ahead of time if you would like to join us on Thursday so we can have projects ready for you. Email email@example.com if you’re interested.
Camper Care Specialists: do you love kids and want to support summer camp as a volunteer for a week? Our camper care specialists are the best! They come to love on the campers & staff, support the staff in various ways, assist with emotional and behavioral support of campers and so much more. We would love to have you!
Work Groups: do you have church group or family group that loves to do service projects? You could come for the day or plan a work week/end and we’ll set up a work project for you to accomplish together to help improve the facilities and grounds at Camp. Project Examples: tree cutting, exterior painting, building projects, etc. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
To meet necessary state and licensing requirements, we must ask all of our volunteers to complete a volunteer application if they will be interacting with campers.
Think about it, pray about it, and apply (it’s free to apply and there are no strings attached).
