Paul grew up in Holland, Michigan, and married his high school sweetheart Elyan in 1981. Paul and Elyan have three grown married children and ten wonderful grandkids. Paul enjoys working with his hands and the variety of work that he is able to do at camp. Paul and Elyan have been in camp ministry for many years and served at Camp Michawana since the fall of 2018. Paul's favorite verse is Philippians 3:13b-14, "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
